make a lasting impact.
Jennifer Steiner, PhD ABPP
Hi! I’m Dr. Jennifer Steiner, and I’m passionate about two things: helping people cope with chronic pain and illness, AND helping other mental health professionals feel confident and well-equipped to help others.
I’m a Board Certified Clinical Health Psychologist, with expertise in chronic pain, chronic illness, and coping with cancer.
In addition to clinical practice and consulting, I love teaching continuing education workshops for mental health and medical professionals. I’m honored to have been featured by the Southern Pain Society, Center for Mental Health and Aging, and radio stations like WRGF in Georgia. I also served as a panelist and subject matter expert for the Arthritis Foundation, and I’ve been a guest speaker for Miles for Migraine, and the Lighthouse Lymphedema Network.
When I’m not busy with professional projects, I can be found at the gym or baking sweet treats with my kids.
About BTB Center for Practice Growth
I never imagined that I’d run a private practice. As a Board Certified Clinical Health Psychologist, I always imagined that I’d work in a hospital or academic medical center- and I did for several years. Then 2020 happened, and for variety of reasons I realized it was time to make a change. So I did something I thought I would never do and I decided to open a private psychotherapy practice.
Starting the practice was overwhelming and I found myself scrambling to learn the how-to’s of practice set up and management all on my own. It took time, but I cobbled together information from several different sources and well-meaning colleagues and eventually found my way. My practice opened and it thrived, but it was much harder in the beginning than it had to be. I started coaching friends and colleagues through the process and realized that I should create a platform to share this information with everyone.
I firmly believe that it doesn’t have to be so hard, and now I am on a mission to make sure that other mental health professions do not end up feeling lost in practice set up and management like I did.
